CHERIE KILLIAN BERRY, was sworn in as North Carolina’s first female labor commissioner on Jan. 6, 2001. She won re-election in 2004 and 2008. She began her third term Jan. 10, 2009. Commissioner Berry, a native of Catawba County, is the former business owner of LGM, Ltd., a company that produces spark plug wires for the automotive industry. Commissioner Berry was born in Newton. She is the daughter of Lena Carrigan Killian and the late Earl Killian. Berry was married to the late Norman H. Berry Jr. The couple has four children.

ANTHONY B. BONAPART, grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and currently works for the North Carolina Department of Justice as Deputy Director of Private Protective Services. His office is assigned the task of enforcing N.C.G.S. 74C and 74D. N.C.G.S. 74-C, the Private Protective Services Act, regulates professions such as Private Investigators, Counterintelligence, Security Guard and Patrol, Armored Car, Guard Dog Service and Polygraph Examiners. N.C.G.S. 74-D regulates Alarm Licenses, Alarm Systems Business License (sells, installs, services, monitors or responds to electrical, electronic, or mechanical alarm signal devices, burglar alarms, television cameras, or still cameras, used to detect burglary or breaking and entering. Anthony opens investigations, oversees audits, enforces monetary fines and makes oral presentations before licensing Boards.

LaMont D. Smith is the Recognition Program Manager for the North Carolina Department of Labor – Occupational Safety and Health Division (OSHNC). His duties require him to oversee all of the OSHNC Recognition Programs. LaMont has been employed with the NC Department of Labor for 16 years. Prior to becoming the Recognition Program Manager, he worked as an Industrial Hygiene Consultant Supervisor, Industrial Hygiene Consultant, and Health Compliance Officer. In addition, LaMont has worked for Lexmark International, Inc. as an Industrial Hygienist

ALLEN McNEELY, was appointed Deputy Commissioner/Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Division of the North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL) in July of 2003. He joined NCDOL in the summer of 2001 as the Director of Research and Policy after working with the North Carolina Community College System for 13 years. He has a diverse background in higher education administration and training initiatives. His 30 years of state employment also include service at North Carolina State University (NC State) and the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources.

JOE CREWS, is a highly qualified professional with an extensive background in safety standard improvements and implementation as well as developing and presenting safety training to employees throughout the industry. He has designed and presented numerous workshops implementing safety programs and has developed policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local occupational safety regulations, industry standards and company procedures.

Mr. W Jon Wallace, CSP, MBA has over 20 years experience in Occupational Safety. He was most recently an employee of Workplace Group in Chapel Hill, NC and since 2002 has been providing occupational safety consulting service to numerous and various clients. Some past employers have included Mobil Oil, Hercules, West Virginia University and Exemplar. His recent focus has been providing NFPA70E guidance and assistance to his clients.

Matt Thompson is a native of Avery County, North Carolina and a graduate of Appalachian State University. He is Manager of Marketing and Public Relations for the Safety and Health Council of North Carolina (the North Carolina chapter of the National Safety Council) and started his career with the Council in 1991. His responsibilities include increasing awareness of the need for safety training, course and program development and community and public outreach.

Dan Wozniak, former head of the central NC FBI office, Crisis Management Group.
Mr. Wozniak retired from the FBI in March 1998 after 20 years of distinguished service. From march 1986 until his retirement, he held the position of Senior Supervisory Resident Agent in Charge of FBI Operations in the Middle Judicial District of North Carolina. During his career, Mr. Wozniak also held supervisory duties in the Undercover and Sensitive Operations Unit at FBI Headquarters and investigative assignments in Atlanta Georgia and New York City. He was a member of the inspection Staff and the Directors Advisory Board.
Mr. Wozniak obtained extensive experience as an investigator and manager in crisis management planning, risk analysis, kidnappings, extortion, bomb threats, white-collar crimes, organized crime, undercover activities, violent crimes and international investigations.

MARCY COLLYER, is a highly qualified professional with an extensive background in environmental, health and safety management and consulting. Marcy relocated to North Carolina from northern New York and joined the ETTA staff in July 2006 as a Health Education and Training Specialist. In September 2007 Marcy began her current position as Training Supervisor. She has a diverse background which includes five years of service in the United States Navy, wastewater laboratory experience and experience working on grant and State funded research projects while completing her college education. For seven years Marcy worked as a consultant where one of her primary duties was the development and instruction of health and safety training programs. Marcy graduated from the State University of New York - Plattsburgh in 1996 with a B.S. in environmental science and a minor in chemistry.
